So You Want to Open a Food Truck
The Community College of Philadelphia is offering classes on how to own and operate a food truck. The course, Mobile Food Management: Introduction to Food Entrepreneurship, begins on Wednesday, September 2nd and according to CCP, it is the only such course offered by an accredited institution anywhere in the United States.
The course is broken down into three sections, each costing $249.
- Mobile Food Management 101: Concept and Plan, 6-9 p.m., Wednesdays, September 2nd to 30th
- Mobile Food Management 102: Requirements, 6-9 p.m. Wednesdays, October 7 to November 4
- Mobile Food Management 103: Design, Costing, and Budgeting, 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays, November 11 – December 9
Throughout the classes, established food truck owners, including five who graduated from Community College of Philadelphia, bring in their mobile food trucks and share the lessons they’ve learned through experience. In addition, the classes offer an overview of business regulations, licensing, financing, social media and branding.
