Growers at Forty North Oysters
From Monday, August 17th through Saturday, August 22nd, Center City’s Oyster House is hosting a local seafood week that will highlight New Jersey shellfish growers and benefit Philadelphia’s Fair Food.
Oyster farms as well as other shellfish growers dot the Jersey shore and complement the traditional fishing in the area. To show off this summer’s bounty from Forty North Oysters, Cape May Salts Oysters, Sweet Amalia Oyster Farm, Heritage Shellfish, Dias Creek, and Betsy’s Cape Shore Salts, Oyster House will offer the following:
Choose your own assortment of a half dozen local oysters and clams ($14)
served raw on the half shell with housemade cocktail sauce, lemon, and mignonette
and
Local Pearl Platter ($38)
six local oysters, six local clams, dip of smoked line-caught New Jersey bluefish, and dayboat scallop ceviche
Fifty percent of proceeds go to Fair Food, and your reward is fresh oysters, clams, scallops and fish.
