Percy Street BBQ Is Celebrating National Root Beer Float Day This Thursday
There are many, many delicious things we all owe Philadelphia big thanks for (I’d take a moment to list highlights, but I have no doubt we all have a personal set of favorites). On that list, quite close to the top, is the Root Beer Float. So on Thursday, August 6th, we celebrate.
This Thursday, join the good float-drinking folk at Percy Street BBQ for their signature Root Beer Float. At $3 (half the usual price), the combo of house-made vanilla ice cream plus Yard’s Brewing Co.’s root beer straight out of the tap is simply too good to pass on. Want it spiked? For $7 you can have it with Art in the Age‘s Root . If somehow you don’t feel like celebrating the holiday but still want a float, you can also nab one made with Anderson Valley Barney Float Oatmeal Stout for the same price.
And in case you were concerned that there wouldn’t be appropriate celebratory fare, end all concern here: Percy Street will also be bringing back their Brisket Burger for the day (and only this day). Never had one? Here’s a description: a quarter-pound of Creekstone Farms Brisket, ground in-house, on a Martin’s potato roll with lettuce, tomato, onion, and special sauce. Salivating a little? It gets better: the burgers will be going for $5 all day.
Just in case I missed something to convince you, scroll up and stare at the photo for another minute. If nothing else, that should seal the deal.
