Now You Can Do More Than Just Drink at the PHS Pop-Up Beer Gardens
While sitting outside with a beer and watching the day go by is a perfectly legitimate way to spend your time at either of the PHS gardens (located at 15th and South Street, and 9th and Wharton), they will now also be hosting summer activities, garden programs, and beer celebrations throughout the rest of the summer. So if you’re looking to combine yoga, gardening, or your dog with an outdoor beer, look no further.
The new schedule for both gardens is right after the jump.
Over at the PHS South Street Pop Up Garden, you’ll find:
Tuesday July 28th, 5 PM – 10 PM: Dog Days of Summer
Enjoy a special gift from Dogfish Head Brewery, and nab a doggie bag by having your pup perform a trick or two.
Sunday August 1st and August 22nd, 1:15 PM: Yoga in the Garden
Only $10, join Theresa Conroy of Yoga on the Ridge for an hour-long yoga class. Advanced registration suggested.
And going on at the PHS East Passyunk Pop Up Garden:
Monday July 20th, 6PM: Quizzo in the Garden
Trivia and prizes (you know how Quizzo works), but with the added fun doing it all outside.
Monday July 27th, 6 PM: Take Your Houseplant for a Walk Day
In celebration of the national horticultural holiday under the same name (who knew?), you can bring your plant to the garden and consult PHS experts for care tips and help re-potting.
Tuesday July 28th, 6 PM: Milky Chance
Presented by Blue Moon and Radio 104.5, the band will perform outside in the garden in a private jam session. Enter your name to win tickets.
Monday August 17th, 6 PM: Fresh Cut Flower Arranging
Learn how to make arrangements (and send the finished product to your mother).
Monday August 24th, 6 PM: The Great Tree Tenders
Your crash course in basic tree knowledge and care.
Monday August 31st, 6 PM: Container Gardening for Fall Harvest
Learn how to actually get something out of that tiny garden you’ve got so you know what you can grow and harvest this fall.
Also, come September 18th- 20th, both gardens will be celebrating PHS Harvest Fest, so keep an eye out for more details on those activities on their website.
