Common Ground Marketplace 2015 debuts at noon this Sunday, July 12th at the intersection of Broad and Mt. Vernon streets. Offering a little more than your average farmers’ market, this Food Trust market has urban farm/market tours, line dancing, cooking demos, fitness activities, food trucks and more.

The urban farm tours have our attention. First at 1 pm and again at 3pm, participants will have the chance to tour local urban farms and markets. This week’s farms are Cloud 9 Rooftop Farm (12th & Fairmount) and Philly Urban Creators (11th & York). Farm directors are excited to show people a holistic overview of the services offered in our own backyards. Tours are 45 minutes long and are either walking or biking (bikes provided by Indego). To sign up for a tour, email commongroundmkt@thefoodtrust.org.

After your tour head back over to the Common Ground Marketplace to take advantage of all that it has to offer. Look out for local produce, artisanal vendors, soul line dancing, cooking demos, book swaps and food trucks Schmear It and Samosa Deb.
