Burger-deprived Philadelphians, your despair will soon end. Your savior? A Florida-based franchise that goes by the name of Burger 21.

Thanks to the Philadelphia Business Journal, we learn that Burger 21 is setting its greasy sights on the Philadelphia region, with plans to open some 12 locations in the Philadelphia region.

Burger 21, which is headquartered in good-eating hotbed Tampa, Florida, already has more than a dozen locations throughout the country, with another 20 actively in development, including in Cherry Hill and Trenton. There’s already a Voorhees location. A Burger 21 spokesperson told the PBJ that Jenkintown, Willow Grove, Havertown, King of Prussia, Springfield and Conshohocken are all under consideration. And thank God for that.

In addition to ten different beef burgers, the Burger 21 menu also includes a shrimp burger, tuna burger, various poultry burgers, a burger salad, and a full line of milkshakes, including the Double Bacon Burger Milkshake. (OK, we’re kidding about the last menu item, though we wouldn’t put it past PYT.)

The Voorhees location has a beer list ($3-$5) and $5 wines by the glass. That outpost of Burger 21 has generally positive reviews on Yelp, in case that means anything to you. Yelpers rave about the burgers (obviously), the sweet potato fries, and the fact that “THIS PLACE HAS ALCOHOL!!!” A meal there consisting of a burger, fries and a domestic beer will set you back less than $15.

If you think that opening a burger restaurant in the Philadelphia area is your path to an early retirement, a Burger 21 franchise can be yours for a total investment of close to $1 million, according to the PBJ.
