Flying Fish Debuts New Beer in “Exit Series”

Flying Fish Brewery, New Jersey’s largest brewery, began crafting a selection of beers named after each exit on the New Jersey Turnpike in 2012. But when the brewery moved from Cherry Hill to Magnolia, New Jersey, the series was put on hiatus.

This Friday, the series is back in a big way. Flying Fish is rolling out the newest installment in their exit series: Exit 3: Blueberry Braggot.

The “braggot” is an ancient brewing method that results in something of a cross between mead and beer, and this one is 15% alcohol by volume and is made with New Jersey blueberries and honey.

To welcome the new addition to the series, Flying Fish is hosting a special event this Friday in its tasting room.

Somerdale mayor Gary Passanante will be on hand to tap a special firkin of Blueberry Braggot, which includes orange and lemon peel and whole blueberries at 4pm.  The boozy beer will be available as part of mini-flights, with both versions of Exit 3.  Flying Fish will also be selling 750ml bottles at the brewery.
