Shake Shack Drops A New Year’s Gift On Philly
So you guys know about the McRib, right? It’s some kind of mutant, boneless pork sandwich that McDonald’s releases on the world every now and then. People go nuts over it for a lot of reasons, but one of the big ones is that its not available all the time. It’s a limited release, and that makes the McRib special.
Shake Shack has been doing something similar for the past few months–putting their Shackmeister Burger (the first major, burger-based addition to their menu since 2012) onto menus in select locations, then pulling it off again, offering it as a special, then making it go away. But starting on January 1 of 2015, the Shackmeister (pictured above) is going to become a permanent addition to the menu of Shacks nationwide.
But there’s something special just for Philly, too.
The Shackmeister burger is a pretty simple thing–just a big Angus cheeseburger topped with fried, marinated shallots and Shack sauce. But its simplicity is part of its charm. You see that picture up there? That’s a portrait of a Shackmeister, and it really does look good.
The double-goodness for Philly comes in the form of beer, though (as it should). In addition to adding the Shackmeister burger to the menu at all Philly area locations, Shake Shack will also be putting a new Victory collaboration beer on tap: Shack Frost Ale–the first ever collab beer made specifically for a local market.
As we said, the burger is available starting January 1. In Philly, so is the beer. I think you guys can figure out what to do from here.
