Opening Tap Tickets Now on Sale
It’s 65 days to Philly Beer Week and tickets are now on sale to the Opening Tap Event. Beer Week runs from Friday, May 30th through Sunday, June 8th and officially begins with the official “first tap” by Mayor Michael Nutter. Opening Tap has a new location, the 23rd Street Armory, home of the First Troop Philadelphia Cavalry.
More than 30 local craft breweries will be on hand and will be the first place to try Philly Tripel, the local collaborative beer of Philly Beer Week 2014. The beer is the creation of Dock Street Brewing’s Justin Low and Belgian brewer Anne-Catherine Dilewyns of Brouwerji Dilweyns in Dendermonde, Belgium.
Tickets cost $45 for general admission ticket holders and doors will open at 7 p.m. VIP tickets ($90 per person) will include early entry (6 p.m.), beer sampling, food and maybe most importantly, access to VIP restrooms. Designated driver tickets are available for $25.
