Shake Shack News For This Weekend And Beyond
Two bits of Shake Shack news today for you fanatics. The first involves fries, the second, concretes.
News Item #1: It’s almost St. Patrick’s Day, and while bars and restaurants all over the damn city are getting ready to serve the temporarily green crowds all the beer and corned beef they can hold, Shake Shack is rolling out a special, limited-time menu item–“Irish Fries Are Smiling.”
Yeah, I know. Bad name. But that’s a picture of them up top there, and what you’re looking at is an order of fries, topped with horseradish cream, scallions and applewood-smoked bacon–all of which sounds awesome (and really, not at all Irish-y, save the potato part). So, like finding yourself at a Denny’s at the end of a bad night and swallowing your pride long enough to order the Moons Over My Hammy, just get past the name and get in to any Shack in the area to get your fries. They’ll be on the menu from Friday, March 14 through Monday, March 17 and then, like the mysterious Shamrock Shake, they’ll be gone for another year.
News Item #2: This one is a piece of local Shack news. Philly area Shake Shacks are getting ready to roll out a new concrete in collaboration with Magpie Artisan Pies. The Magpie Oh My Concrete will be vanilla frozen custard blended with a slice of Magpie’s lemon curd pie and fresh raspberries.
A single will run you $4.25. $6.50 for a double. And it’ll go on sale March 28 and only be available until April 6.
