On Wednesday, November 13, High Street on Market will host an  dinner with Sicilian winemaker Frank Cornelissen. Chef Eli Kulp will present four-courses featuring plates with locally foraged ingredients to pair with Cornelissen’s wines for $80.

High Street’s communal seating and family-style plates allow for guests to share a variety of dishes while interacting with the winemaker.

Cornelissen will offer a pétillant naturel wine (pét-nat) from his good friend and fellow  winemaker, Jean-Pierre Robinot, followed by three of his own natural wines.

Cornelissen has become a bit of a poster child for the natural wine movement, even though he doesn’t consider himself a natural winemaker. “Our farming philosophy is based on our acceptance of the fact that man will never be able to understand nature’s full complexity,” says Cornelissen. “We prefer to follow nature’s indications as to what to do, instead of deciding and imposing ourselves.”

Reception will begin at 6:30 p.m. with dinner starting at 7 p.m. Reservations can only be made by calling the restaurant at 215-625-0988.
