Celebrate Mexican Independence Day Today

Too many people think that Cinco de Mayo is Mexican Independence Day but it is actually today, September 16th. And thankfully several Mexican bars and restaurants in Philadelphia are looking to educate the masses through margarita deals and food specials.

Cantina Dos Segundos is celebrating the day with drink and food specials all day. And then this evening the Northern Liberties Mexican bar is hosting David Suro-Pinera, owner of the Siembra Azul tequila brand. Join him from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. to discuss the Tequila Interchange Project. A non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting sustainable and quality practices in tequila production.

It’s tequila week at Los Caballitos and today that means El Mayor drink specials, food specials, DJs and giveaways all day long.

Cantina Feliz in Fort Washington is celebrating Mexican Independence this evening with empanadas, margaritas, and happy hour drink specials all night.
