Here’s the press release that the restaurant just sent out:
PHILADELPHIA, PA – Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar (10 S. 2nd Street,215.627.0666) was thrilled to host the Rolling Stones on Wednesday night, as they wrap up their US tour, 50 & Counting. Mick, Charlie and Ronnie celebrated at the private event with their road crew of 100+. The rock ‘n rollers were hot in Havana, as they indulged in Chef Guillermo Pernot’s exotic and tempting cuisine. Between passed hors d’oeuvres of Atún Fire and Ice Ceviche and Spinach and Manchego Buñuelos to stations of Plantain Crusted Whole Baby Rack of Lamb and Cuban Paella, the group certainly enjoyed the finest Cuban cuisine has to offer.
“It was an absolutely amazing opportunity to be able to cook for these guys. They truly are rock ‘n roll royalty,” said Guillermo, “It’s been an exciting year for Cuba Libre.”
No tour ending celebration would be complete without authentic entertainment. A Latin band performed at the soiree as well as salsa dancers, who lead the group on the dance floor, and no Cuban fiesta would be complete without cigars.
Planning of the event was kept top secret with only key members of management clued in as to who the VIP guests were. Staff members had to leave their cell phones at home last night as photographs, videos and social media postings were prohibited.
Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar has been the destination to a many celebrities including, Robert DeNiro, Bradley Cooper, Teri Hatcher, Tim Roth, Mario Lopez, Billy Baldwin, Chazz Palminteri, Will Smith, Jill Scott, Brian McKnight, and Troy Aikman.
