Mardi Gras Happenings in Philadelphia
Today is Mardi Gras and Philadelphia is celebrating with everything from Sazerac jello shots to all-you-can-eat crawfish. Here are nine top choices for Fat Tuesday.
Beck’s Cajun Cafe – Get traditional King Cakes today, they’re really good.
Catahoula – $20 wristbands are available for unlimited Abita drafts. Hurricane and monsoons are $5 as are Sazerac jello shots.
Chris’ Jazz House – Chris’ will celebrate with $30 all-you-can-eat crawfish or $10 buckets throughout the day. $5 shrimp gumbo, $5 Sazeracs and Hurricanes, and $3 beers from Abita will also be offered. At 6:45 p.m., the Nawlins’-inspired Hoppin’ John Orchestra will march down Broad Street, Bourbon Street Style, proceeding down Sansom and onto Chris’ stage for a 7 p.m. concert.
Franklin Mortgage and Investment Co. – The Franklin gives a nod towards Mardi Gras with a selection of $10 cocktails.
Khyber Pass Pub – Two happy hours, the West Philadelphia Orchestra and of course all those New Orleans meu items.
Krispy Kreme – All local Krispy Kremes are giving away a glazed doughnut today, limit of one per customer.
Perch Pub – There will be Abita Turbodog and jambalaya all night plus $5 Hurricanes.
Rum Bar – Come by and enjoy a big bowl of Cajun Jambalaya, wash it down with a bevvy of $2 drink specials. From 9 to 11 p.m., come enjoy free samples and giveaways from the Bacardi Girls.
