London Grill Expands Next Door With Paris Wine Bar
A few weeks ago, Philadelphia got its first bar with beer taps at every table–the only such location in Pennsylvania.
And a few days from now, the city will get its first bar with wine on tap when the illustrious Terry Berch McNally, who owns London Grill with her ex-husband, chef Michael McNally, will open Paris Wine Bar next door. The 50-seat restaurant will serve two whites, three reds and one dry rose from special kegs filled just for the restaurant–all Pennsylvania wines, all served by the house draft system–plus French-inspired small bites and meat and fish entrees under a tin roof.
Twenty years ago, London Grill became one of the first bars in the city to embrace the concept of craft beer AND to explore its pairability with food, making it one of the first gastropubs in the country. Now, the McNally-McNally duo is once again on the regional forefront of an epicurean movement, as we believe both Paris Wine Bar’s all-local wine list and draft system to be unique in the state. Terry, who says opening the bar has been a long process, is working with five wineries so far, four of which are owned by women: Allegro, Pinnacle Ridge, Manatawny, Galen Glen and Wattz.
And you can be among the first to experience them at the grand opening on February 9 from 5-8 pm, where nibbles and wines will be served gratis, along with live jazz. Ooh la la.
