JG and the Great Pumpkin

Farmer Alex McCracken, the farm architect behind Jose Garces’ Luna Farm gave the Iron Chef an unusual gift, a 1,136 pound pumpkin. McCracken grew the monster, gifted it to Jose and drove it down in the back of his truck. The monstrosity is now on display in front of JG Domestic.

A giant pumpkin without pumpkin dishes would be a bit pointless so check out chef de cuisine Matt Hiebsch’s Pumpkin Gnocchi with broccoli rabe and shaved Sartori Stravecchio. Or finish your meal with Pumpkin Pie Souffle with sweet cream ice cream and rum anglaise. The pumpkin dishes will be on the JG Domestic menu for the next couple of weeks.

The GTC kiosk is also getting into the spirit, running a special on Pumpkin Lattes.

Speaking of Garces’ Luna Farm, each Friday in the lobby at the Cira Centre outside of JG Domestic, a farm stand will be open from 12 to 6 p.m. selling fresh produce including the first harvest from Luna Farm.
