More Night Market News: Sneak Preview of Hop Sing Laundromat

Just got a call from Lee over at Hop Sing Laundromat, and he has decided that, since the Night Market will be descending on his ‘hood tonight, he’ll use the opportunity to open the doors at Hop Sing for a one-night-only sneak peek at the space. Specifically, at the bar top.

“Be the first in Philly to get to see our bar top,” he told me. “That’s what you should say.”

What he wouldn’t say is what, exactly, is so special about his bar top that it could draw people away from all the good grub being served out on the street. But then again, knowing Lee, I’m guessing it’s going to be on fire. Or made entirely of vapor. Or invisible. In any event, like the penny floor, the shoeshine zone and the liquor wall, I’m guessing it’ll be something worth checking out.

One thing that Hop Sing won’t be doing tonight is serving during the festivities. Not all of the inspections are complete yet, so getting a drink at said bar? That’s right out.

“That would be illegal, brother,” Lee told me. “That would get me on the front page. Don’t want to lose my liquor license before I even open.”

Hop Sing will be opening the doors to looky-loos at 7:30 and keeping them open ’til things wrap up at 11pm.
