Starr-Maddox BBQ Challenge Set for Tomorrow
Tomorrow, August 13th is the tenth annual Stephen Starr-Garry Maddox Barbecue Challenge at Citizens Bank Park. The event runs from 4:30 to 7 p.m. and is open to the public, admission is free. Samples from the barbecue competitors are $5 each or 3 for $10.
Raffle tickets ($2 each, or three for $5) will also be available. Prizes include a weekend stay at Loews Philadelphia Hotel, a Cole Hamels autographed baseball, a Ryan Howard autographed bat, a Big Green Egg ceramic smoker and grill, a Mitchell & Ness 1980 Mike Schmidt jersey, VIP passes to the David Letterman Show and more. The Barbecue Challenge benefits Garry Maddox’s Youth Golf & Academics Program, which supports the education and development of inner-city kids.
