Philly Native Returns Home to Cook Dinner at Amis
James Beard award-winning chef and Philadelphia native Michael Schwartz is going to be returning to Philadelphia to cook for one night at Amis. Schwartz is the chef and owner of Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink in Miami and will be in town for Marc Vetri’s Great Chefs Event on Tuesday, June 14th. The next day he’ll be at Amis for Genuine Amis, a four-course dinner prepared in collaboration with Amis’ Brad Spence.
The event will highlight Schwartz’s dishes, some of which are featured in his recently published Michael’s Genuine Food: Down-to-Earth Cooking for People Whol Love to Eat, a copy of which is included with the dinner.
Thick cut potato chips served with pan-fried onion dip
Stout-braised clams and chile chicken wings, served family style
Fettuccine carbonara with crisp bacon and poached egg
Slow-roasted pork shoulder with pickled onions, parsley sauce and creamy cheese grits
Vanana toffee panini
Dinner is $100 per person and includes a copy of MICHAEL’S GENUINE FOOD: Down-to-Earth Cooking for People Who Love to Eat.
