The Agenda: Beer, Beer, Beer & It’s Not Even Beer Week Yet
Looking ahead to this week’s events might have you believing that Philadelphia Beer Week is already here. But that’s not the case as its just another sudsy week of goodness in Philadelphia.
Today the taps at Monk’s Cafe are being taken over by New Jersey’s Flying Fish brewery. Six varieties of Flying Fish beer will be available including bourbon barrel-aged variation of Exit 13 Chocolate Stout.
On Tuesday Varga Bar is hosting a high-alcohol beer dinner where as diners inhibitions lessen, the food gets crazier. Dinner is $60 per person. See the menu below.
Wednesday night sees Sly Fox beer featured this month’s beer dinner at White Dog Cafe in University City. The $50 per person dinner will feature a reception with Sly Fox brewer Brian O’Reilly and three-course, $50 meal. Check out the menu below.
Also on Wednesday, join City Paper and the Philadelphia Business Journal for food, drink and the discussion thereof. The event runs from 5 to 7 p.m. at Trust in Old City. Panelists include: Michael Schulson of Sampan and Izakaya, Mitch Prensky of Supper, Moon Krapugthong of Chabaa Thai and Dana Herbert of Delaware’s Desserts by Dana, winner of the TLC reality show Next Great Baker. The food will include bites from City Paper staffers favorites like; Delicatessen, Koo Zee Doo, Maru Global, Marabella Meatball Co., Oyster House. Tickets are $35 per person and available online.
