More Bar Coming to Bistrot La Minette

Bistrot La Minette tweeted some good news this morning: They’re finally adding additional bar seating, which has been one of the plays we’ve called during our restaurateur armchair-quarterbacking sessions. We’ve always wished La Minette had a bigger bar for solo dining; we even put it into print as part of the 50 Best Restaurants issue:

If only: They had a real bar, rather than a puny four-seater.

You’re very welcome, Philly solo diners. Ha.

Chef/owner/lead construction worker Peter Woolsey tells us he’s adding a slab of marble to create an L-shaped bar, doubling the number of seats from four to eight. He’s also replacing two of the bistro tables in the front with high-top tables, giving it a more of a bar feel.

Woolsey says he hopes to have the bar addition installed by Valentine’s Day, just in time for you to have a romantic dinner with yourself there.
