Taco Azteca
Most people travel south of the border, or at least to South Philly, for good Mexican fare in town. This week the Street Team headed north, to 5th and Thompson, to check out the offerings at Taco Riendo.
One of the specials that night was the Taco Azteca, a must-try at $4, and the Street Team’s first taste of grilled cactus. The taco also included a layer of beef, Oaxaca cheese, and pico de gallo. Who knew cactus would taste so delicious?
You’ll be amazed at the menu that is full of inexpensive authentic dishes, including tostadas, sopes, and a myriad of tacos. BYO, order at the counter, and dine at their sidewalk tables or in the breezy courtyard out back. You may not want to head south again.
