Tale of the Tape: Resurrection Ale House
Resurrection Ale House opens tomorrow at 5 at the corner of Grays Ferry and Catharine. Menu samples will be available with the still under wraps full menu starting Thursday at noon. The Ale House promises to be a beer bistro for the G-Ho/Center City South neighborhood.
The Owners
- Leigh Maida and Brendan Hartranft are opening their third establishment in under two years.
- Brendan is known to many as “Spanky” from Nodding Head where he was a long time bartender.
The Space
The awkwardly shaped corner location has gotten a face lift.
- Textured cream-colored wallpaper
- Sage walls and accents
- Clear windows, gone is the tinting film
- Two-tiered bar remains
- Walls decorated with Art for the Cash Poor finds
- Vintage beer can arrangement displays 70 beer cans of yesterday
- Three marble-topped tables occupy what was an odd space at YellO’bar

The Menu
- Chef Joey Chmiko will run the kitchen.

- Lunch, dinner and weekend brunch will be served
- Kitchen open till midnight seven days a week
