Dr. Andrea Bowen is a board certified adult psychiatrist in private practice at Retreat & Restore, Haverford. She takes an empathic and compassionate approach to providing psychodynamic psychotherapy and evidence based medication management. In keeping with the mission of Retreat & Restore, she supports patients incorporating mind-body and integrative approaches to enhancing whole person wellness.

Along with her team members, psychiatrist Dr. Susan Rushing and child psychiatrist Dr. Aneela Khan, R&R offers psychiatric medication management for ages three and older. Psychotherapy is offered by clinical Social Workers Amy Ruggiero and Christina Babusci for ages 14 and older. This holistic and collaborative team-based approach includes yoga with Jennifer and massage therapy with Erin and Kyle, making a trip to Haverford truly restorative.

Dr. Bowen has expertise in the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders, and women’s mental health, with particular interest in treating women undergoing transitions across life stages, from the menstrual cycle to post-menopause. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Pennsylvania and is training at the Psychoanalytic Center of Philadelphia.
