Eagles Sign Matt Barkley; Only Johnson Remains
The Eagles and quarterback Matt Barkley have agreed to terms on a four-year contract. Of the eight Eagles 2013 draft choices, only No. 4 overall pick Lane Johnson remains unsigned.
Matt Barkley’s four-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles should be worth $2,657,028 with a $497,028 signing bonus.

Barkley’s payday likely would have been much larger if he skipped his senior season and entered the draft in 2012. Some projected him to be a top-10 pick that year. Each top-10 pick last season received a signing bonus north of $7 million and a total package of at least $12 million.
“Really now with the new CBA it’s all about that second contract and reaching that point,” Barkley told 97.5 The Fanatic back in May. “And while that’s not the goal — my goal isn’t to make money, it’s to establish myself as a quarterback — and if that all happens, then money shouldn’t be an issue.”
Barkley (6-2, 227) was taken by the Eagles with the 98th overall pick. The 22-year old was the all-time leading passer in both Pac-12 Conference and USC history.
