MANNA

MANNA is the only organization of its kind in the Philadelphia area that prepares and delivers free, nourishing meals to neighbors battling serious illnesses such as cancer, HIV/AIDS, diabetes and kidney disease. To each of its thousands of recipients MANNA delivers 3 meals a day, 7 days a week, and provides hope and nourishment to the Greater Philadelphia area and Southern New Jersey.

This is possible due to the numerous volunteers, who are the heart of MANNA; each year 2,500 caring neighbors chop, cook, dice and deliver meals – enabling MANNA to provide all meals and counseling free of charge. MANNA is improving the health of its clients through the power of food as medicine. A recently completed study by the OMG Center for Collaborative Learning demonstrated the health benefits of MANNA’s medically modified diets. MANNA can now point to the healing support of its medically modified diets to provide to those who are seriously ill. MANNA’s clients routinely report increased energy, improved weight, better tolerance of medication and less stress over preparing meals.

MANNA’s delivery of delicious nourishing meals and provided counsel, empowers individuals to battle illness and improve their quality of life.
