Philip L. Fava II, DMD, MDSc is a board-certified dental implant surgeon and periodontist, Director of the Pennsylvania Center for Dental Implants & Periodontics and educator in advanced techniques in oral surgery. Dr. Fava specializes in esthetic implant placement, oral plastic surgery, laser-assisted LANAP® and LAPIP® gum disease treatment, and is certified in the Chao Pinhole® treatment for gum rejuvenation. Awards or Certifications

Dr. Fava is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, a Fellow of the International Team of Implantology (ITI) and a Fellow, International Society of Periodontal Plastic Surgeons. He currently serves as Director of the Philadelphia Tri-State ITI Study Club, President of the Eastern Dental Society, the leader of two Spear Study Clubs, Advisory Board Member of Spear Masters Program, faculty of DevRight Speaker Development Series, and ITI US Section East Regional Education Chair. He lectures nationally and internationally on various topics including periodontics, biological bone augmentation, dental implant surgery and practice management. Dr. Fava has authored and co-authored articles published in scientific journals including the Compendium of Continuing Education in Dentistry and frequently contributes to the dental literature in the area of periodontal surgical techniques, dental implants, bone grafting, gingival grafting and protocols for predictable implant placement.

What's your background, education and training?

Dr. Fava completed his specialty residency in Periodontics and Masters in Dental Science (MDSc) at the University of Connecticut (UConn) where he served as the chief resident. He earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in Philadelphia from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine (UPenn).

Insurances Accepted

We are a fee-for-service practice. As a courtesy, we will predetermine treatment costs for you which you can provide to your insurance company to determine how much coverage you will be entitled to and how much will be considered “out-of-pocket.” Keep in mind that all fees are payable at each visit. At the end of each visit, you will be given a completed insurance form to submit to your insurance company, along with all necessary treatment information. They will also be prompted to send any and all reimbursements to you directly.
