There’s a Movie Shoot in Center City Tonight
There’s a movie shooting in Center City tonight.
I know what you’re thinking: Who chooses to shoot a film in Center City on a Friday night? Won’t the crowds be too much for actors, especially a movie that will star Kevin Hart and Bryan Cranston?
Those are good questions, hypothetical quizzical reader, but I have an answer for you: The Untouchables will film on Market Street and JFK Boulevard between 15th and 20th streets, which is pretty empty on any night — even Fridays. And neither Hart nor Cranston will be in town tonight to shoot the film. Got it?
Between 7 p.m. tonight and 7 a.m. tomorrow, Market Street between 15th and 20th streets will be closed to traffic. (Could the building where Philadelphia magazine is headquartered, 1818 Market Street, be in a film? Maybe!) SEPTA bus routes 17, 31, 32, 33, 38, 44, 48, 124 and 125 will be detoured during these times.
The movie did some casting in Philadelphia last month.
The Untouchables is an American adaptation of a 2011 French comedy, The Intouchables, where a rich guy paralyzed in a paragliding accent hires a poor guy from the housing projects to be his caretaker. The film was acclaimed by critics.
