In what Daily News horse guru Dick Jerardi is calling “the most important race in the history of Pennsylvania racing,” Kentucky Derby winner California Chrome is running in the Pennsylvania Derby. He’s the first Kentucky Derby winner to run in the Pennsylvania Derby the same year.

California Chrome is an even-money favorite to win the race held at Parx, the racetrack and casino in Bensalem that used to be known as Philadelphia Park.

Chrome hasn’t raced since he missed out on a triple crown win at the Belmont Stakes; he finished in a tie for fourth behind winner Tonalist. On Saturday, Bayern is the horse most likely to challenge Chrome in the Pennsylvania Derby.

Post time for the Derby on Saturday is 5:40 p.m.
