WATCH: Kenney Reads Mean Tweets Philadelphians Sent Him
In case you missed it (and you probably did), Mayor Jim Kenney turned 58 this past Sunday. To celebrate his birthday, he sat in front of a camera and read from the finest of Philly Twitter.
In a two-minute Youtube video, the mayor reads aloud some of the meanest tweets sent to him via his @PhillyMayor and @JimFKenney accounts, in the style of celebrities who read “Mean Tweets” on the Jimmy Kimmel Live! show.
“For my birthday, I wanted to read some of the nice tweets you sent me this year,” he said.
Here’s some of what he read:
“Philly Mayor you suck! #MakeAmericaGreatAgain.”
“I’m amazed that @PhillyMayor can from a sentence when his mouth is so full of !___* and garbage? #YouLie
“Every time I see a picture of Jim Kenney, I really wish Lynne Abraham had won that mayoral primary.”
The mayor also acknowledged his own past unfiltered tweets, which included musings about great designer deals at Ross, LSD in turkey burgers, and how he’s “so sad sometimes.”
He did not, however, address that last Friday, the FBI raided several properties related to longtime power broker John Dougherty, who helped to get Kenney elected.
So sad sometimes.
