Bill Green Finally Gets to Be Mayor, Thanks to Daily News Error
Much has been written about Bill Green IV’s mayoral aspirations. And Tuesday’s primary didn’t exactly lend a helping hand to the Councilman-at-Large turned ousted School Reform Commission chairman’s political future, what with two of his avowed enemies, Jim Kenney and Helen Gym, scoring big victories. But thanks to the Daily News, Green has finally been declared mayor.
The Philadelphia tabloid ran a sidebar in its Philly Clout section on Thursday morning, exploring the educational backgrounds of the last six mayors in Philadelphia, and we have to admit to forgetting that Frank Rizzo was a high school dropout. (No word on whether he ever got his GED. Stay in school, kids, or it’s a nickel ride for ya!)
But when they got to the 94th mayor of Philadelphia — that would be Bill Green III aka the father of Bill Green IV — the Daily News photo department errantly used a photo of the younger Green, looking appropriately frustrated.
