Carol Erickson Leaving CBS3
The shakeups just keep on coming for CBS3.
Carol Erickson is leaving the television station after working there since 1978. She announced on Twitter and Facebook that she’s going to pursue her passion of pet advocacy instead of signing on for another year.
“I have decided instead to focus my time on what means the most to me – animal welfare,” Erickson said on Facebook. “I love CBS3, where I have been since 1978, and thank them for everything! My pet advocacy will continue, and let’s all help CBS3 move the ball forward for a region that is kind to animals and one another.”

You may remember Erickson from her epic catfight with anchor Nicole Brewer.
Earlier this week, on-air personalities Chris May, Kathy Orr, and Beasley Reece all departed the station. It’s all part of an ongoing makeover of CBS 3’s news division since new President and General Manager Brien Kennedy took over in May.
The station has also named morning anchor Ukee Washington to the news anchor slot at 5 p.m, 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. He’ll join co-anchor Jessica Dean, according to the Daily News. Meanwhile, Kate Bilo takes over for Orr as chief meteorologist, and Katie Fehlinger will take over Bilo’s old slot at noon.
