Eagles-Bengals Inactives: Jordan Matthews Out
CINCINNATI — Jordan Matthews (ankle) will not play in the Eagles’ game against the Bengals today, the team announced. Ryan Mathews and Halapoulivaati Vaitai are also unavailable due to knee injuries, while Steven Means, Josh Andrews, Taylor Hart and Dillon Gordon are healthy scratches.
Nelson Agholor will once again be active after he was benched against the Packers for struggling to deal with pressure. Doug Pederson mentioned he may try to get Agholor involved early in the game with quick, easy passes to build his confidence.
With Mathews missing his second consecutive game, Wendell Smallwood is expected to be the primary ball-carrier. Allen Barbre will shift to right tackle with Vaitai out, while Stefen Wisniewski will fill in at left guard.
As for the Bengals, A.J. Green and long snapper Clark Harris are the only starters who are inactive with running back Giovani Bernard on Injured Reserve. Quarterback Jeff Driskel, safety Derron Smith, guard Christian Westerman, tight end C.J. Uzomah and defensive end Wallace Gilberry are also inactive.
