Jim Schwartz Gave An Incredible Quote About Nigel Bradham
There’s no question Jim Schwartz offered the quote of the day (and maybe quote of the season) during his entertaining press conference on Thursday morning. The Eagles defensive coordinator didn’t hold back when weighing in on the most recent Nigel Bradham arrest.
“The worst thing I’ve ever forgotten at an airport I think has been a razor or a belt or something like that,” Schwartz started.” I’m the guy in line that if that person five people ahead has a bottle of water in their luggage, I’m throwing my hands up like ‘Seriously? Do you ever travel? Do you not know you can’t take water in?’
“This takes it to a different level. I think that the most disappointing thing for me is it takes away from the Nigel we see every day: a good teammate, a hard worker, a trustworthy player on the field.”
“But, hey, facts are facts. You do dumbass things, pretty soon you’re going to be labeled a dumbass.”
Bradham was originally arrested for an incident in July. He’s been formally charged with aggravated assault and has a trial hearing set for January 2017. Mostly recently, Bradham was arrested for trying to bring a loaded gun through an airport.
Doug Pederson said the team doesn’t currently plan to punish Bradham, but it was clear the Eagles head coach was disappointed in the veteran linebacker. Schwartz repeated a similar message.
“He’s got a lot of ground to make up because it’s not just him,” said Schwartz. “It’s the rest of us also. It’s everybody that wears that helmet, all the people in the organization. He represents not just himself; he represents everybody. He’s got some ground to make up that way. He’s got to earn some trust back.”
