Shepherd, Smallwood Late Eagles Scratches
JaCorey Shepherd (hamstring) and Wendell Smallwood (quad) will no longer play in the Eagles’ second preseason game against the Steelers tonight. They join Mychal Kendricks, Mike Martin, Jordan Matthews, Jalen Mills, Hunter Sharp and Carson Wentz as Philadelphia’s inactives.
Dorial Green-Beckham will be on the sideline in uniform, but he is not expected to play. However, CSN’s John Clark reported Green-Beckham “may” play because the Eagles think he has looked good during warmups.
Allen Barbre will replace Lane Johnson as the Eagles’ starting right tackle, while Isaac Seumalo will play left guard. The first-team offense will play for at least one quarter, and possibly into the second quarter. It’s unknown how long Johnson will play.
Najee Goode is expected to start in place of Kendricks, while Nelson Agholor will likely take Matthews’ place. Malcolm Jenkins, Marcus Johnson, Jason Peters and Marcus Smith are also set to play in the preseason for the first time tonight.
