49ers Name Chip Kelly Their Next Head Coach
Chip Kelly will be the next head coach of the San Francisco 49ers. Jed York, the CEO of the 49ers, announced the news on Twitter.
After a thorough search, Trent & I are thrilled to announce Chip Kelly as the new #HeadCoach of the @49ers

San Francisco was the only team Kelly reportedly interviewed with, partially because of Kelly’s relationship with Tom Gamble. The Eagles fired Gamble, who was the Vice President of Player Personnel in Philadelphia, at the end of 2014. Gamble is now San Francisco’s senior personnel executive.
Was told reliably that Chip Kelly considered trading for Kap, so assuming the salary makes sense the partnership could be really good.

The news came not long after Tom Coughlin withdrew his name from the Eagles coaching search. Ben McAdoo also agreed to become the Giants head coach Wednesday night as Philadelphia became very interested in him.
The Eagles only have three candidates remaining in their search — Doug Pederson, Pat Shurmur and Duce Staley — whom they have confirmed interviews with.
