The latest on the Eagles search to find their new head coach.

10:27 — The Buccaneers have fired Lovie Smith, giving the Eagles more competition in their coaching search.

7:45 — According to Jason La Canfora, the Dolphins are going to make a big push for Adam Gase and try to hire him before his second interview with the Eagles.

Earlier today, reports emerged that the Eagles had lined up Gase for a second interview this weekend, after meeting with him for eight hours on Tuesday.

3:01 — Adam Caplan says the Eagles may interview Doug Pederson “early next week.” Here’s an excerpt of what he said on ESPN (h/t Crossing Broad). “Doug Pederson will interview after the [Chiefs playoff] game, maybe early next week. Eagles know him, and the thing about Doug is, talking to people who have coached with him and know him, he’s got the right temperament to be a head coach.”

2:52 — Ian Rapoport has a name you can cross off as a potential candidate for the Eagles.

2:00 — For those of you who like to crunch the numbers with your coaching search, Bovada has provided the goods.

11:28 — Ben McAdoo, who will interview with the Eagles tomorrow, has some Pennsylvania roots.

11:16 — The Eagles are interested in a coordinator from a division rival, according to the New York Post’s Paul Schwartz.

10:44 — According to a report from NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport, the Eagles have scheduled a second interview with Bears offensive coordinator Adam Gase.

The Inquirer’s Jeff McLane reported Wednesday morning that Gase and the Eagles met for about eight hours during their interview Tuesday.

Gase is still expected to interview with the Browns and Dolphins at points this week, but it seems like, at least for now, the Eagles have a candidate they’re interested in. Adam Schefter said on 97.5 the Fanatic this morning that he believes the Eagles are “highly interested” in Gase.
