After Bennie Logan missed practice yesterday, a report emerged that the nose tackle may be shut down for the rest of season because of a calf injury. However, Chip Kelly denied that today, saying it’s “not accurate.”

“He’s day-to-day right now and we’ll see how he is as we get closer to the game,” Kelly said.

If Logan isn’t available on Saturday, Brandon Bair will be active. Kelly added that Beau Allen, Cedric Thornton and Fletcher Cox are capable of playing nose tackle.

Eric Rowe, who suffered a concussion against Arizona, cleared protocol and returned to practice today. Byron Maxwell, however, will not do any training.

Kelly also addressed Cox’s first Pro Bowl selection, which was announced last night.

“I think it’s probably a little later than it should’ve been,” Kelly said. “I think he played at that level last year, but he was happy and he was excited. And deseveredly so. I think he’s played extremely well this season, so I’m really happy for him.”
