Making Sense Of the Eagles Inactives
For the second consecutive week, Mark Sanchez will start at quarterback for the Eagles. Sam Bradford, Jonathan Krause, Ryan Mathews, Denzel Rice, Tanner Hawkinson, Zach Ertz and Brandon Bair are inactive.
That means Kenjon Barner will again be a part of the Eagles running back rotation, while Trey Burton will play a bigger role in the offense. Although they typically have only two backup offensive linemen available on game day, Philadelphia has three today in Dennis Kelly, Josh Andrews and Julian Vandervelde.
As for the Lions, receiver Calvin Johnson, cornerback Darius Slay, defensive tackle Caraun Reid and safety Don Carey will all play, despite being listed as questionable on the injury report.
