For the second straight day, Sam Bradford (concussion) and Ryan Mathews (concussion) were held out of practice at the NovaCare Complex.

According to Chip Kelly, Bradford and Mathews have yet to clear concussion protocol, which means they haven’t been able to practice or lift weights this week. While Bradford continues to take in practice from the sidelines, we have not seen Mathews to this point.

Kelly also said that Jason Peters (back) would be unavailable at practice Thursday, but the left tackle took part in individual drills, and Lane Johnson was lining up at right tackle.

Peters, who hasn’t played since Week 7, is still going through what Kelly called “rehab for his back.” Kelly said Peters looked “okay” in the limited work he did during Tuesday’s practice. Kelly said that if Mathews is unable to go against Tampa Bay on Sunday, Kenjon Barner would be “up and active” at running back. Bradford is also reportedly dealing with a separated left shoulder, his non-throwing shoulder, and hasn’t been able to test it out because of the concussion restrictions. A few more on-site updates from Thursday’s practice.
