Chip Kelly rarely reveals much information about himself to the media, but is he the same way with his players?
We decided to go around the Eagles’ locker room and find out just how much his guys know about him. We asked them about their coach’s real name, in addition to the weirdest fan interaction they’ve had.
Paunil: “What’s Chip’s real first name?”
Walter Thurmond: “I thought Chip was his first name. There are people named Chip… right?”
Brandon Graham: “Oh, sh–t. Can I Google it?”
Denzel Rice: “Who knows that? Does anybody know that?”
Eric Rowe: “Oh god, I don’t even know what I’d guess. What goes with Chip? Chipper?”
Seyi Ajirotutu: “Chip. Chipford? Chips Ahoy!”
Mychal Kendricks: “Curtis? Christopher? Is it something bizarre? Cruz? That would’ve been funny… Cruz Chip Kelly (laughing hysterically). Cody? I have no idea.”
Cody Parkey: “Chad?”
Lane Johnson: “It’s Charles… I might’ve looked it up once.”
Josh Huff: “Ooh, that’s crazy.”
Rice: “Oh, really? Charles Kelly? Why?”
Rowe: “I didn’t know that. All right, I learned something!”
Kendricks: “Charles? Oh, f–ck. I had no idea. Charles? That’s funny.”
