Open Thread: Eagles Begin To Make Cuts
The Eagles need to cut their roster to 53 by 4 p.m. Saturday. We’ll continue to update this thread as news trickles in.
10:07: Howard Eskin reports that Jaylen Watkins has been cut. He also says Goode is on the trading block whereas Barner is not.

9:44: Ed Reynolds will be released, according to Adam Caplan. 8:11: Jaylen Watkins could be a in a new uniform this season. From Eliot Shorr-Parks.
The Eagles are attempting to trade cornerback Jaylen Watkins, multiple league sources have confirmed to NJ Advance Media. The sources requested to speak on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak on the subject. Even if Watkins is not traded, it is unlikely he will be back with the team.
5:18: The Eagles have cut rookie running back Raheem Mostert, according to his agent.
The Philadelphia Eagles are releasing RB Raheem Mostert who led the entire NFL in yards from scrimmage and total yards this preseason.

4:15: Matt Barkley has been dealt to the Cards. All the details here. The former fourth-round pick appeared in four games in his two-plus years in Philly, completing 60 percent of his throws (30-of-50) with zero touchdowns and four interceptions.
1:50: Rookie defensive back Randall Evans has been released, according to Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post. He needs time to develop and could be a good practice squad candidate.
1:26: A notable move: Chris Prosinski has been released, Eliot Shorr-Parks reports. Prosinski was competing for one of the team’s remaining roster spots at safety.
1:15: The Eagles will release Malcolm Bunche, Martin Frank reports.
12:57: Travis Raciti has been released, according to Lombardo.
12:22: According to Mark Eckel, the Eagles are listening to offers for Kenjon Barner. Barner returned two punts for touchdowns during the preseason.
12:04: Brett Boyko has been cut, Lombardo reports. The Eagles signed the undrafted free agent in May.
1:32: Deontae Skinner and Andrew Gleichert have been cut, according to Lombardo.
11:27: Najee Goode could be on the move.

Goode is an NFL-caliber talent, but the Eagles are pretty well stacked at inside linebacker. 11:25: Matt Lombardo says Julian Vandervelde and Quron Pratt have been released. 11:24: Local product Rasheed Bailey opened some eyes this preseason, but it looks like he’ll be kept off the 53.

Bailey seems like a good practice squad candidate.
11:12: Kip Smith has been waived by the team, Lombardo reports. With Cody Parkey entrenched as the team’s starting kicker, Smith never really had a chance to make the 53-man roster, and his performance during the preseason was underwhelming.
10:44: John Moffitt has also been cut, says Lombardo. Moffitt’s lack of versatility—he played right guard almost exclusively for the Eagles—seems to be one of the determining factors.
10:37: Brian Mihalik is the first reported cut, according to Matt Lombardo. Expect Mihalik to make the practice squad.
