Kelce, Jenkins Fire Back At Weatherford
Over the weekend, the world’s strongest punter and current New York Giant Steve Weatherford appeared on WFAN and had a few choice words to say about Chip Kelly and his current group of quarterbacks.
“Bradford can go zero to 60 in three seconds. But you don’t know if he’s going to start up some days.”
Asked about the possibility of Bradford getting an extension, Weatherford added: “Good luck with that. … Chip Kelly will get himself in serious trouble if they get an extension for that guy and he gets hurt? He’s done.”
Well it seems like Weatherford’s comments have not gone unnoticed among Eagles players. Pro Bowl center Jason Kelce tweeted out his response:
Of course a player who is literally not allowed to be touched is talking shit… Is interviewing punters a thing now? @Weatherford5

Malcolm Jenkins then piggybacked on Kelce’s comments, adding:

However, minutes after the two Eagles voiced their displeasure on Twitter, Weatherford appeared on 97.5 The Fanatic to clarify what he meant:
Steve Weatherford: “I got a lot of respect for the #Eagles. I think people are reading the headlines and docking it the wrong way.”

Steve Weatherford: “I 100% can see how you can take offense to that, but that is not the way I meant it.” — 975TheFanatic (@975TheFanatic) June 29, 2015
Steve Weatherford: “I think Chip Kelly is doing a wonderful job. You guys crushed us last year.” — 975TheFanatic (@975TheFanatic) June 29, 2015
Weatherford “When you have a QB like E. Manning, I would prefer that he takes the snaps for my team over Tebow. I’m not taking shots at Tim” — 975TheFanatic (@975TheFanatic) June 29, 2015
Weatherford also Tweeted back to Kelce:
Did u even read the my quotes? Or did u generate ur opinion based upon the headline? (Continued) @Jkelce
— Steve Weatherford (@Weatherford5) June 29, 2015
Ur smarter than that don’t let some1 tell u your opinion. I was complimentary of all 3 QBs. Nothing but respect. @Jkelce @Jkelce

@Jkelce Don’t be like everyone else and allow an unreliable journalist tell your opinion… Form it yourself.
— Steve Weatherford (@Weatherford5) June 29, 2015
@Jkelce to you, your team & fans: My apologies if it was taken offensively. I was not my intention or goal. Nothing but respect.

And thus ends the 36-hour feud, something I’m sure you will be telling your grandchildren about.
