The treatment room sets the mood for the Dream Like Relaxation package at the Logan Hotel’s Underground Spa & Wellness, thanks to specialized lighting meant to resemble the night sky.

Your practitioner will help settle your body and mind via breathwork before incorporating super-calming massage techniques. The service also combines reflexology (said to activate the parasympathetic nervous system, which regulates rest), aromatherapy, and guided meditation for some next-level R&R. (You might even doze off from time to time!) Even better: You’ll receive a goody bag with tea, lavender oil and pillow mist, a sleep mask, pajamas, and meditation tips.

Schedule the experience on a weekend or day off, as the whole shebang lasts four to eight hours. Package from $2,500. —Laura Brzyski

Equinox Hotel

New York City

The urge to snooze overwhelmed me when I entered my cocoon-like room at the Equinox Hotel New York. But that’s what this destination — from the folks behind the luxury fitness club of the same name — is designed to do: help you thrive, whether you’re on the go or at rest.

The property’s Art + Science of Sleep package was developed by a sleep psychologist and is based on research that shows how shut-eye, or lack thereof, affects the body. My stay began with three minutes in the spa’s cryotherapy chamber, to reduce inflammation and muscle soreness, and a (glorious!) infrared sauna visit. Afterward: Spa Wave Table therapy, which uses sound and harmonic frequencies to restore the body’s circadian rhythm in just 30 minutes.

In suite, the “RoomBar” has rest-promoting products like an antioxidant-packed tart-cherry melatonin beverage. Mattresses are handcrafted without metal springs, the bedding is temperature-regulated, and you can prime your space for the perfect rest with the touch of an iPad. Morning gym sesh has never been easier. Package from $1,100. —Kristen Schott

The next morning, after you’ve enjoyed a peaceful slumber, channel your energy via fitness training or IV therapy. There’s also the option to slow down at the Art Museum, the Rodin Museum, or the Barnes. Micro-Retreat from $2,000 for a two-night stay. —Tonya Russell

Carillon Miami Wellness Resort

Miami, Florida

My bedtime routine used to be simple: Brush teeth. Crawl in bed. Sleep for eight-plus hours and awake fully restored. But that was then. Nowadays, I’m restless and up every hour — and that’s if I’m lucky enough to drift off before sunrise.

That becomes a distant memory at Carillon, an oceanfront wellness resort in Miami offering a custom escape designed to “make falling asleep a dream.”

My pursuit began with the spa’s tension-taming Wellsystem Wave Massage, a dry water massage bed that kneads sore muscles while reenergizing the body. Between the quiet, dimly lit room and powerful hydromassage, I fought the urge to nap, which I took as a good sign. There are plenty of treatment options with the spa’s touchless Sleep Well circuit to curate your experience, including red light therapy, meditation pods, salt float baths, and biofeedback. I opted for V.E.M.I., a combination of healing sound, full-body vibration, earth frequencies, and infrared that lulled me into a meditative state. Next was a three-minute turn in the cryotherapy chamber, and I ended my circuit trying all of Carillon’s thermal hydrotherapies. The Finnish Spa, Crystal Steam Room, and Herbal Laconium are faves.

Before bed, I scanned the QR code for the Bryte Balance Smart Mattress — there’s one in every room — to adjust the firmness and activate the rolling massage feature to sync with the soundtrack of my choosing. (I opted for evening rain.)

The next morning, I lingered in bed, enjoying that old feeling of having gotten a full — uninterrupted — night’s sleep. Sleep Well circuit from $2,598, overnight stays from $599. —Carla Shackleford

SHA Wellness Clinic Mexico

Costa Mujeres

A stint at SHA’s newest destination in Costa Mujeres, about 30 minutes north of Cancún, focuses on their take on R&R: reset and revitalize.

For me, that would (hopefully) be achieved with Rebalance & Energize, one of the brand’s multiday programs. (There are others for losing weight and aging well.) Available in four- and seven-day options — both of which are also available at SHA’s 16-year-old flagship property in Spain — it aims to simultaneously relieve stress and boost energy.

My stay began with various health appointments, including a general exam that assessed my vitals, vascular health, muscle mass, and cognitive function, a consult with the medical doctor, and a session with a nutritionist. She recommended that I enjoy the main menu, rather than the weight loss- or detox-focused menu, during my visit.

All dishes put veggies at the forefront and include, to a lesser extent, seafood; they are free of artificial sugar, gluten, dairy, eggs, and meat. (Alcohol is not served either.) Every morning began with miso soup — to support my vitality and immune system, and promote optimal digestion — and all the dishes I ate, including a standout mushroom tamale with mole sauce, were packed with flavor and sustained me from sunup to sundown.

SHA also boasts an array of high-tech and Eastern medicine-leaning services. For unwinding: a deep-tissue massage, shiatsu, acupuncture, and a hydroenergetic detox, which featured time in a tub with pressure jets, a seaweed wrap, and a massaging water bed (wild!). For recentering: yoga, meditation, and pranayama lessons. And for recharging: cryotherapy, IV therapy, and advanced cell regeneration, a cutting-edge treatment said to recharge cells and counteract the negative effects of oxidative stress. (I truly felt restored after!)

In my limited downtime, I visited the hydrotherapy circuit, composed of a swimming pool with several body-massaging jets, a hot tub, a cold-plunge pool, a steam room, a cold room, and a traditional and an infrared sauna — all of which helped relax my muscles and slow down my ever-reeling mind.

The cherry on top? The deep, sound sleep I got in my oceanfront suite every night. Programs from $2,600. —Laura Brzyski

Dream Setup

Settle into sleep at home thanks to products from these Philly brands.

For soothing scents, turn to … Dilo.

The NoLibs-based biz produces candles, perfumes, and incense, but their reed diffusers are perfect for overnight snoozin’, via a constant stream of scent sans flame. They offer fragrances like amber and oakmoss, rose and pine, and basil mint and lavender.

For meditative music, turn to … Luna Maye.

Photograph by Max Grudzinksi, Styling by Liz Barrella

A few years ago, we dubbed Maye Philly’s unofficial queen of sound healing — and we stand by it. The recording artist and sound-therapy practitioner — who recently became W Philadelphia’s director of wellness and spa — released two Zen albums, The Sound Lab and Emergence. Listen to them on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, or Pandora, and be entranced before bed.

For a calming cup of tea, turn to … Ayoka Apothecary.

The organic loose-leaf tea from NoLibs’ Ayoka Apothecary will help you unwind in the evenings. Not only are most teas free of or low in caffeine, but they’re made with plants that promote natural relaxation — like the Third Eye blend with hibiscus and jasmine, and the lavender green tea Soothe.

For tranquil tub time, turn to … Soaked Bath Tea.

Turn to this local line of handcrafted bath products for pre-sleep soaking. (A warm bath one to two hours before bed can lower your core body temperature and thus help you fall and stay asleep.) The blends — which you simply pour into your filled tub — feature ingredients like chamomile, hibiscus, eucalyptus, and even CBD for ultimate calm.

For blissful bedding, turn to … BLÜM.

Photograph by Du Soleil Photographie

Considering that we spend a third of our lives asleep, the right bedding matters. We love the luxurious yet lightweight sheets from Ridley Park’s BLÜM — their Sinclair set is 100 percent linen (hello, moisture wicking and year-round comfort) and includes flat and fitted sheets plus two pillowcases. Bonus: Everything’s eco-friendly, made with all-natural fibers.
