Public Pools Where You Can Swim for Free in Philadelphia
Your guide to the city's public pools that are open (so far!) this summer.

This year, Philadelphians have the chance to enjoy some relief from the sweltering summer heat at free public pools in Philadelphia. Over 60 Philadelphia public pools are expected to open this summer on a rolling basis. Here are the first 11. (As of June 15th, these are the only pools that have announced opening dates.)
Most all pools will offer public swim hours from 1 to 4 p.m. daily, though many also offer additional public swim opportunities. (We’ve listed what we know below!) Be sure to search the city’s pool finder for updates on swimming hours, free lessons, and swim team activities.
Public Pools in Philly
June 12th
Hunting Park Pool (1101 West Hunting Park Avenue, North Philly): Public swim: Monday through Friday from 1 to 4 p.m. and Saturdays and Sunday from 12 to 2 p.m. and 3 to 5 p.m.
Kelly Pool (4231 Lansdowne Drive, Fairmount Park): Public swim: Monday through Friday from 1 to 3 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 12 to 4 p.m.
June 13th
Max Myers Pool (1601 Hellerman Street, Northeast Philly): Public swim: Monday through Friday from 1 to 3:50 p.m. and Saturdays and Sunday from 1 to 3:45 p.m.
Sacks Pool (400 Washington Avenue, Pennsport)
June 14th
Gathers Pool (2501-19 West Diamond Street, North Philly)
Bridesburg Pool (4625 Richmond Street, Bridesburg)
June 15th
Marian Anderson Pool (740 South 17th Street, Grad Hospital): Public swim: Monday through Friday from 1 to 3:50 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 12 to 5 p.m.

June 16th
Fletcher Pool (743-81 North 48th Street, West Philly)
Schmidt Pool (113 West Ontario Street, North Philly)
June 17th
Awbury Pool (6101 Ardleigh Street, Germantown): Public swim: Monday through Friday from 1 to 4 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 3 p.m. (until 2 p.m. starting on June 27th)
A note from the City: Due to ongoing repairs, the following pools will not opening for the 2026 pool season: Lonnie Cohen Cecil B. Moore, Vogt, Feltonville, McVeigh, Lawncrest, and Cherashore.
