This New Coworking Space in West Chester is Sustainable, Zero-Waste, and Pet-Friendly
Flourish coworking and event space was founded by local sisters Laura and Lindsay DiFrancesco.
Anyone who works remotely knows that choosing a dedicated work space is important. While not needing to get out of your PJs at home is a huge perk, it can sometimes be tough to be productive in the same place you relax, unwind, and binge Netflix. It’s partly why many work-from-home employees don’t actually work at home, and instead, settle in local coffee shops, libraries, and coworking spaces to help physically and mentally simulate an office environment.
If your work routine is begging for a change of scenery, grab your laptop and make your way to Flourish, a new coworking space in West Chester. Officially open today, the 3,200-square-foot office has the best of both worlds. It’s housed in a bi-level single-family home, meaning you’ll feel comfortable and at ease surrounded by bright white walls, blanketed cushioned chairs, tons of plants, and even adorable doggos, as Flourish is pet-friendly.
In addition to the cozy charm, lush decor, and productive atmosphere, Flourish is focused on sustainability. The entire space has a zero waste initiative through recycling and composting, as well as furnishing with locally-sourced, second-hand pieces and sourcing renewable energy to reduce its carbon footprint. Flourish will also host community events, including yoga classes and business-oriented workshops. The space can also be rented, so you can host your own event there.
But you’ll also be inspired to efficiently work and collaborate at high-top tables (that double as standing desks) or chic personal desks, and host meetings or record a podcast in the conference room complete with wide windows and a trendy candle tablescape. Plus, there’s a full kitchen that’s stocked with a bunch of healthy snacks, tea, and coffee, so you can stay fueled and on top of your to-do list.
Founder Laura DiFrancesco, who grew up in Chester County, and owns West Chester-based Dean Street Law, decided to open a coworking space this past July. With the help of her sister and co-founder Lindsay, DiFrancesco sought a place where her own employees (who mostly work remote) and other professionals could gather, collaborate, and be productive.
“I wanted somewhere that felt like home, but had the team atmosphere to inspire me to grow my business,” DiFrancesco says. “Plus, I want candles and blankets and my pup, Bear, there.”
You can work at Flourish via hourly passes, one-, five-, or 10-day passes, or a variety of membership packages including 10-day, monthly, and annual. View all your options, which range from $21.25 through $5,432, here. This weekend, Flourish is hosting a grand opening celebration complete with a 2020 planning workshop and dinner on Friday evening, a full-day work party with vision boards, speakers, and free headshots on Saturday, and yoga and brunch on Sunday morning.
Flourish, which is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, is located at 1121 West Chester Pike in West Chester.
