Bryn and Dane’s Is Finally Opening In Center City
The healthy fast-casual eatery of the ‘burbs will open its doors in Washington Square West on August 29th.
Three years ago, Bryn Davis, owner of Bryn and Dane’s, announced that his health-forward fast food joint would open three locations in 2017: one each in Bryn Mawr, Malvern, and Washington Square West. While residents of the ‘burbs reaped the benefits of Davis’ promise, folks in Center City underwent a major test of patience.
After what seemed like an eternity of waiting for those drool-worthy wraps, salads, and açaí bowls to make their way downtown, Bryn and Dane’s will start serving in Washington Square West on Thursday, August 29th. You heard us right: The Center City location is finally opening (insert praise-hands emoji here).
On the day of the grand opening, the first 200 people in the restaurant will receive a free açaí or pitaya bowl. Plus, one very lucky person will win free bowls for an entire year (#winning). The doors are scheduled to open at 11 a.m., but you should probably start lining up now — the city has been waiting three years for this moment after all.
Davis opened the first Bryn and Dane’s in 2009 as a smoothie and popcorn shop in a Horsham office park. Eventually, it transformed into a healthy, fast-casual dine-in and takeout brand of Philadelphia suburbs. With menu items like fruit smoothies, breakfast wraps, salads, Buddha bowls, quesadillas, and banana whips, the chain strives to make healthy eating more convenient and approachable.
Dining at Bryn and Dane’s also has a humanitarian aspect to it. The Change For Change program provides customers the opportunity to donate their change at check-out (by rounding up to the nearest dollar) to go toward opening giving locations in communities across the world that lack access to healthy food and employment. The first giving location will be Entebbe, Uganda.
You can visit Bryn and Dane’s in Washington Square West at 834 Chestnut Street, home to the Franklin Residences. It’ll be open from 6:30 a.m. through 9 p.m. daily, with breakfast, lunch, and dinner options.
