If you haven’t heard of — or even tried — CBD, or cannabidiol, you probably haven’t been inside a local wellness shop in quite some time. The non-psychoactive cannabis compound is the latest supposed cure-all to sweep the health space, and stores and eateries are trying to jump on the trend by stocking it in every possible form: topical salves, infused deodorants, capsules, oils that get mixed into smoothies. Although it’s been FDA-approved to treat certain types of epilepsy, more research needs to be done to see how it can help humans in other ways. But, given how long it takes for large studies to get off the ground, folks haven’t been shy about testing CBD out themselves.
