See Photos From Our Weekend Pop-Up at Title Boxing Club
For this month's BWP Underground event, we headed to Center City's Title Boxing Club for a knockout workout.
Yes, weekends are for catching up with friends and family, doing laundry, meal prepping — but they’re also for getting a serious sweat on. That’s definitely what happened this past Saturday at the Center City location of Title Boxing Club, the site of our BWP Underground event and our studio of the month for March.
There, the experienced boxers/Title coaches started by wrapping our hands (got to keep your knuckles safe!), distributing boxing gloves, and going over basic punches. After all, you’ve got to know your jab from your cross, your hook from your uppercut before you can put them all together. Then we jumped right into the 15-minute warmup. We’re not talking just stretches here; Title seriously warmed up our BWP Undergrounders’ muscles with bodyweight movements such as squats, jump lunges, and high knees.
Once we were all limbered up, we started in on the main part of the workout: the eight rounds of varying combinations on the heavy bags. The coaches also threw in some mitt work. Finally, we ended with 15 minutes of core work, including V-ups and planks. One thing’s for sure: They definitely didn’t pare down the workout. And, of course, we had our giveaway from Verizon — a FitBit!
