Welcome to Sweat Diaries, Be Well Philly’s look at the time, energy, and money people invest in pursuit of a healthy lifestyle in Philly. For each Sweat Diary, we ask one Philadelphian to spend a week tracking everything they eat, all the exercise they get, and the money they spend on both. Want to submit a Sweat Diary? Email mfischer@phillymag.com with details.
Who I am: Alisa Frederico (@dressing_jane), 40, from Newtown
What I do: I am a wife, a mother, and a personal stylist by trade. I consult for Fox29 as well as do on-air fashion segments for them. I am also a fashion ambassador for the King of Prussia mall and do lots of fun events and shows locally for Bloomingdale’s. I am on the road almost every day, shuttling back and forth between clients, meetings, appointments — you name it. My day is never the same and can change on a dime. Thank god for my mom because she is always there to save the day for me when I need help with the kiddos!
What role healthy living plays in my life: Healthy living plays a huge part in my life. Looking good on the outside isn’t as great as feeling amazing on the inside (so cliché, I know). However, the hour per day I work out allows me to not only feel strong physically but gives me such mental and inner clarity as well. I love food, so working out daily also never makes me feel bad about indulging. As I approached 40, one thing I really started paying attention to was my skin. I have a great daily and weekly program I do and have incorporated monthly laser skin treatments. And I committed to drinking more water every day.
Health memberships (and what they cost): Unlimited monthly membership to Barre3 Newtown ($135 per month). I also pay $20 per class for the occasional Core Power Barre Fishtown session and $100 per private, in-house session with yoga and barre instructor Deanna Teufel.

5:30 a.m. — My alarm goes off.
5:45 a.m. — I drink a cup of coffee and pack lunches for my two daughters, Gianna and Francesca.
6 a.m. — Before showering, I check in with Good Day Philadelphia, the morning news team at Fox29.
7 a.m. — I hit the road!
8:30 a.m. — Segment prep for Good Day Philadelphia.
9:30 a.m. — I’m on air talking Academy Awards fashion.
9:45 a.m. — I grab an almond milk latte ($4.50) from OCF Coffee at 3rd and Market streets.
10 a.m. — Next is a dress fitting for Alex Holley, the co-host of Good Day Philadelphia. I’ve brought bundles of dresses for her as on-air wardrobe options.
11:15 a.m. — Clif protein bar. I live off of these. I always have them in my bag or car since I am shuttling around so much. Crunchy peanut butter is my fav!
11:30 a.m. — On-site client meeting to do a spring closet overhaul.
2:15 p.m. — Pick up my youngest, Francesca, at school.
2:30 p.m. — Yogurt and granola at home.
3 p.m. — Home office to attempt catching up on emails.
4:30 p.m. — Barre3 Newtown for an amazing class with owner Lauren Ziel.
6 p.m. — Family dinner! I subscribe to Hello Fresh for three meals per week ($60). This seriously has saved me so much time and wasted money. I don’t have the time to plan weekly meals, so they do it for me. I love to cook for my family, and this still gives me the ability to do that. Today’s meal was pesto panko chicken with roasted potatoes and a mixed green salad.
6:45 p.m. — Homework with my oldest daughter, Gianna.
7:30 p.m. — Kids’ bedtime routine.
9:30 p.m. — Collapse in bed and scroll through all my favorite fashion and lifestyle sites — Women’s Wear Daily, Intermix, Revolve, OOTD Magazine, Big Drop NYC, etc.
10:30 p.m. — Lights out.
Daily total: $64.50

10 a.m. — Second conference call.
10:45 a.m. — A high-intensity barre workout ($20) at Core Power Barre Fishtown. Susan Bacharach is truly like no other. I try to plan my days around getting to her class if I can. She is seriously Philadelphia’s answer to Tracy Anderson. Actually — BETTER!
